Vouchermania
This humble blog is not even two months old and its effects are already being felt throughout the interweb. Don't believe me? Scroll down to the final paragraph of this November 19th "Ain't It Cool News" article about Aaron Sorkin's upcoming series "Studio 7." Yes, gentle readers, those casting rumors were unquestionably lifted from this November 15th entry of Voucher Ankles. Incredible as it may seem, the Vouch is beginning to create ripples in our national entertainment discourse. Scary? Absolutely. But as the old saying goes, you can't fight the zeitgeist at City Hall. With a stick. Watch your back, America: Vouchermania is spreading.

Today I wrapped "Across the Universe." That's movie lingo for I finished. Many hugs and tears. Well, no tears actually. No hugs either come to think of it. Handshakes mostly. I think I might've hugged Julie Taymor. Anyway, everyone on the movie was very nice and I got a lot out of the experience. I look forward to seeing it when it comes out a year from now. God knows what this blog will be like then. Probably the most popular site in America. Happy Thanksgiving, Voucher Anklets.

How about "Voucher Anklenauts?"

Btw, thanks to you, I entered that New Yorker Anti-Caption Caption contest, and plan on doing so in the future. Good stuff.

On a related note, you might like (if you hadn't seen it before), the classic Dysfunctional Family Circus. Sadly, they got shut down years ago by King Features' lawyers, but man.. what a time that was had. History of it here.

We've read some blogs -
Line after line -
We've read each sentence
But paid them no mind -
And bad comments
We've made a few
We've had our share of killer accountants -
But we've come through

We are the Anklets - my friends
And we'll keep on reading - till the end -
We are the Anklets -
We are the Anklets
No time for posers
'Cause we are the Anklets - of the web...

You've taken your bows
And your curtain calls -
You brought us fame and fortune and everything that goes with it
-
We thank you all -

But it's been no Ain't It Cool
No Julee Cruise -
We consider it a challenge before the whole Voucher race -
And we ain't gonna lose -

We are the Anklets - my friends
And we'll keep on reading - till the end -
We are the Anklets -
We are the Anklets
No time for posers
'Cause we are the Anklets - of the web...

---------------------
Happy Thanksgiving, sir.

That was fabulous. And it's even better when you imagine Freddie Mercury's voice.

Thank you. And I'm always amazed at how prescient Freddie was to foresee Ain't It Cool News. I'm sure killer accountants are a problem that plagues every age.

I don't know how they get their information. A few years ago they reviewed a script I'd written, I don't think my agent had even read it yet. It almost seems like they're a bunch of geeks who have nothing better to do than troll the internet all day looking for -- oh wait.

I look forward to seeing Across the Universe when it comes out as well. I've seen you in any of a number of films over the years, but this will be the first one that I go to because you're in it.
