Friday Night Videos: Blah Blah Blahdadee Blah Edition
Friday Night Videos will return. Really. But moving into new home this week has seriously encroached on my scouring-the-internet-for musical-oddities time. Meanwhile, follow this link to video of last week's NY Comic-Con Venture Brothers panel (shot by Unofficial Venture Brothers Panel Discussions Documentarian [info]kuiosikle).

In other news:
A woman is accused of chasing her boyfriend with a knife after thinking he was an actor in a pornographic movie they were watching together.

(via obscurestore)
Hey, my wife did the same thing when she realized I was in Legally Blonde 2 .

My girlfriend loves those movies. Every time LB: 2 is on TV, she's got it on. =_= I think it's just something about Reese Witherspoon that makes the movie for her.

Though I can say I've never looked hard enough for your role in it. What's your role in it? I'll have to pick up on it the next time she watches it.

First of all, referring to Legally Blonde and Legally Blonde 2 as "those movies" is like referring to Jaws and Jaws 2 as "those movies."

Well, okay. Maybe Legally Blonde isn't a masterpiece but it's a perfectly enjoyable little comedy with an excellent premise and distinct characters. The sequel is an unfocused, cartoony mess that trades specifics for generalities and gives short shrift to the main character.

I play animal testing technician who denies Reese Witherspoon entry to my lab when she comes looking for her dog's mother.

I completely agree with that sentiment. Such is why I really haven't WATCHED the second one when my gf has it on.

I'll be sure to watch it next time, if only to see your part there. I think I caught a...Law & Order(???) with you in it the other day (our household is one of those places where the TV's on 24/7, so we often get caught up in those lovely SVU or CSI marathons). And yep, I just checked IMDB...but I don't remember what the ep was about, only that I swear I saw you bloodied up a bit. Could've been my colorful imagination, though.

Ahhh, you were in Death of a President? Totally missed that, too...only because I fell asleep after the "assassination" of Bush. I thought it could've been done better, made more engaging...kind of like the lack of engagement in that semi-recent movie about "if the South had won" the Civil War. Some of these smaller movies really drop the ball when they've got a great concept in their hands.

I keep telling myself to rent Fay Grim, but junk like Nancy Drew (i.e., more stuff my gf's interested in) jumps out at me. I love me some Parker Posey, though.

Nancy Drew? Is your girlfriend 10?

She likes stupid, idiotic movies just for the joy of mocking them or for some absolutely mindless entertainment. Enchanted was one of those movies, and I didn't mind it either.

But otherwise, she does like good movies, too.

I just have to thank G-d that she isn't into watching Gossip Girls or those fucking Kardashians.

Speaking of sequels, "Fay Grim" is the sequel to this. If you haven't seen it, I recommend doing so before viewing "Fay Grim."

Well then, I'll have to rent both at the same time next time we're at Silver Screen. We just watched December Boys and while watching Dan Rad in a role other than Harry Potter is amusing, I still want the last couple hours of my life back. I guess if I want to watch a good Aussie or NZ indie I have to pop in Rain again.

Next up: Southland Tales.

I love both movies like, a lot.

In Legally Blonde 2 I enjoyed Bob Newhart because how can you not? And I really like that Elle stands up for animals rights. Too bad we don't have enough people doing that in real life.

Thanks for the pleasure of your company at NY Comic-Con! One of my favorite parts of that panel was getting to hear you sing the odd ball couple theme song of course....and then when Mike wasn't expecting it you yelled ALL OVER YOUTUBE! and it scared the crap outta him....loved it!
Also thanks for enjoying my tattoos, and can't wait for the chance to meet you again! ^_^

Love, Crittle

Aw, come on, "LB2: RW&B" has what all the best sequels are made out of - the same stuff that goes into McDonald's milkshakes and Moxie Soda and hot dogs...

Love the vid from the con. One of the best things about it: for most of it you and Mike look like you're sharing a microphone while Doc and Jackson look like they're sharing a torso. Some sort of skinny, two-headed, manic, beast of awesome.

Before I realized that you were in LB2, I could avoid it. But now, I have to watch it to the very end (when it's on TV, of course), cuz you jog so happily towards Reese when you give her the dog.
