The Japanese film
Survive Style 5+
ruined that Cake song for me. I mean, "ruined" in the sense that it made it fifty times more awesome and I can't listen to it without thinking of the movie.
Damn it. I haven't started my paper that is due in a few hours but I'm watching these videos. And just
looking
at Charlie Rose makes me sleepy, so that's no help. Thanks a lot.

Most insane movie ever. I originally got that movie on the strength of Tadanobu Asano alone, and then discovered that it was absolutely amazing.

i always liked that cake's version gave me adifferent take on that song. gloria gaynor's version was all defiance and strength where cake's version sounded more like he was trying to convince hinself everything was gonna be ok.
xtc ftw, as the kids say these days.

Man! As if Charlie Rose wasn't zen like enough on his own! Minimalism hasn't made me giggle that much since "The Red Wheelbarrow." =P

Mind if I add something?
I guess I'm the only human under 50 who actually watches CBS Sunday Morning, but last week Mo Rocca did a story on a "Real life Ironman" (suit) and tied it in with Comic-con. The first people not only shown on screen from the Con, but questioned ala "Man-on-the-street" style were the Monarch and Dr. G couple that wanted Doc to marry them. One can only conclude that Mo is a closet Venture fan.

It's probably just me being silly, but was that trail of toy animals in the Cake video a "Glass Menagerie" allusion?
